June 2018: Snow day

It’s snowed!!!!! Admittedly the snow didn’t last on the ground down here, but it fluttered across the valley. Some areas had hail, others rain, but there was a giant swathe of genuine snow, about 30 cm deep, and still drifts of snow on the mountain in late afternoon. That was on May 30, after the warmest May on record. I should have guessed when the wombats arrived the night before, almost in a line and looking expectant /annoyed/ impatient. They knew bad weather was coming, and wanted to stock up on calories so they could sleep away the next 24 hours. Which is a sensible option.
